"I used to work for a big advertising agency where I could fall back on inhouse expertise at a moment's notice.  And clients were spending significant sums to market their products.  When I started out on a shoestring budget I turned to The British Library and IP Centre (BIPC) in central London which gave the confidence to pursue my idea from business plan to launch. I thoroughly recommend it.

I initially researched the market for my idea to make sure that I had a viable business model and I did lots of qualitative research with a local school to get parents feedback on the service we offered.  There are lots of experts at the BIPC to help with the business planning as well as free courses on PR, IP and finance. I've also met some excellent contacts through the centre which has been essential for networking and getting pearls of wisdom from successful entrepreneurs.

Now that I've been running 4 years, and have an extensive range of private clients and schools, I wanted to extend the concept to other areas - as I just couldn't be everywhere at the same time.  So I sought the services of a Franchise lawyer who advised me on a suitable agreement and I've just found a great new franchisee in South West London.

The franchise I offer has an intense 6-week training programme, which ensures I pass on all the lessons I’ve learned.  We also help with marketing and PR and really help each franchisee grow their business to maximise a generous catchment area.
