School open days: spring term 2012

Following feedback from parents at the Independent Schools' Show in London last year, we realised how useful it would be to have a handy guide to school admissions details and open day dates.  Not all schools have open days this term, but are still happy to welcome parents for a look around and a talk with the head.  And whilst most schools are happy for you to arrive for an open morning/afternoon without registering, it's good to get yourself on the radar, and courteous to let them know you're coming.
