Anyone looking to entertain their kids over the holidays may well think of going to You Make a Cake. The idea of going to bake a cake somewhere seemed strange to me given I do have a kitchen at home and know how to do a little baking but I thought we would get something special. I took my two kids, they were so excited but were then let down. The shop was filled with tins and utensils but no one knew or was interested in how to actually use them. My kids cakes were not only worse than I could produce with them at home, I then had to pay an was outrageous amount of money for them. My advice is that even if you have money to burn don't waste your time. Go to Peter Jones and buy a pretty cake tin you will keep forever and take your kids home and bake with them there. Pottery Cafes make sense - I don't have a kiln at home - but I do have a kitchen. You Make a Cake??? Yes! At home for the price of the raw ingredients I already have sitting right there. S
