Shrek The Musical tells the story of the swamp-dwelling ogre who embarks on a quest to reclaim the deeds to his home. He's joined on his journey by Donkey, whom he struggles to tolerate due to the fact that he wont shut up. But following the classic fairytale pattern, he fights a dragon, rescues the independent Princess Fiona and develops a life-long friendship with his side-kick.
The Musical played on Broadway until Jan 2010 before touring around the US, and was nominated for 8 Tony Awards. There are new and old songs from the original film and spectacular stage scenery to bring this film to life on stage.

Took my 9 yr old boy to see this musical and it's fab. Amanda Holden really has got talent. Much more fun, and less scary than Wicked - with a perfect lavatorial number at the start of the second half. Good songs, great set, and truly funny. Shrek, played by Nigel Lindsay, doesn't disappoint and Donkey is just as annoying as in the film.
