Dear Zoo, by Rod Campbell is a classic children’s book. Aimed at kids under 5, it is the story of a boy who writes to the Zoo asking them to send him a pet. He is sent an elephant but it is too small and a lion that is too fierce and many more until he receives the perfect pet.

The animals are hidden under flaps that you lift to discover what the zoo has sent. The lift and flap board book is great as it gets children to interact with the book while helping them begin to recognise things and have fun all at the same time.

Dear Zoo is just one of many books by children’s author Rod Campbell. He has also written Dear Santa, Buster Gets Dressed and Farm Babies to name just a few. A bestseller for 25 years, Dear Zoo is shared between generations.
