Mums Back to Work

A new course in north west London helps mothers prepare to get back to work.  Whether you've been out of the workplace for 10 years or 10 months, or are considering a completely new direction - you'll get guidance and advice on job interview techniques, preparing a CV, personal presentation and building your confidence levels.

“Getting the confidence to find the right job after raising a family is a big challenge for women who want to go back to work,” explains Louisa Grange, founder of Mums Back to Work.  "Part-time and flexible jobs are like gold dust and you may be nervous about how you might fit back into your career after a long absence.  Or perhaps you are looking for a new direction."

All these things form the core part of Louisa’s courses, which include confidence building, re-writing your CV, communication skills and interview technique, amongst other topics.  “I want to bridge the gap between being a mother and being a professional woman.  It’s a great investment in oneself and the skills you acquire will last a lifetime.

Indeed, Louisa’s experience in broadcast media, making documentaries for women’s channels, interviewing and hiring people as well as her experience as a teacher was behind her idea of Mums Back to Work.  “When competition is tough, and interview processes are rigorous, I can give mothers the strength and confidence to aim high and identify the knowledge and experience they can bring to the role.

The courses are for small groups held at the Harrow Arts Centre, north west London.  See website for details www.mumsbacktowork.co.uk.
