Symphonic Tots - Music Classes
Symphonic Tots was created by professional musician and teacher Marianne Tyler Brown.
After the birth of her daughter in 2010 Marianne started attending a variety of the many baby music classes on offer in and around London. Marianne’s background as a Professional Cellist, Cello & Piano Teacher and University Music Lecturer combined with her love of sharing her musical knowledge with young people and her experiences of her own mother’s dedicated work as music therapist inspired her to create Symphonic Tots where Live Cello and other Orchestral Instruments are central to each class.
“Let Us Take Our Children Seriously! Everything Else Follows From This…”
Zoltán Kodály (1882 – 1967)
The classes aim to provide on-going support and information for parents and carers to continue musical activities at home and to provide encouragement and advice. Each course is divided in to sessions consisting of half term blocks designed for a variety of ages including classes for mixed age groups and discounts for siblings. The curriculum covers all areas of the early years foundation, Kodaly method, live musical performances including cello with Marianne and a variety of instruments with other visiting professional musicians as well as movement and story time sessions.
A wide variety of quality age specific percussion and small sized musical instruments are central to the classes which help towards the children’s brain development , coordination and communication skills, but above all are great fun for all! Marianne her team are all professional musicians and experts in the field of music education following Zoltan Kodaly’s philosophy that every child deserves the best quality of music education at whatever stage.
